July 16, 2020 – In a heartbreaking announcement by the employees of ABS-CBN Bacolod, all 81 employees will be losing their jobs as the local network outfit of the media network will cease to operate by the end of August.

The local ABS-CBN will stop operations after 15 years since they entered the island back in 2005. All shows including The Morning Show, TV Patrol Negros, and their local radio station that already stopped transmitting last May 5 will cease to exist.

The following shutdown of the local media outfit is a result of the 70 congressmen who voted not to renew ABS-CBN’s franchise. Among the people who voted to shutdown ABS-CBN were Negros Occidental representative from Abang Lingkod partylist Joseph Paduano & Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr.
