As of last Saturday, September 5, 2020, Bacolod City reported the highest number of COVID-19 Cases, surpassing cities from Metro Manila. The province of Negros Occidental continues to lead Western Visayas in terms of cases, with 75% of coronavirus infections from the capital city of Bacolod.
For the two days in a row, Bacolod reported more cases last weekend than any other city or municipality in the Philippines at 147 cases. As of September 6, 2020, the city has 1,119 active cases–the highest amongst Western Visayas, with the next highest at 692 cases from Iloilo City.



On top of this, Dr. Julius Drilon, medical director of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital said that Bacolod City needs to trace 18,588 individuals after 531 residents tested positive from the Timeout Weekend Mass Testing. The standard from the Department of health is that 35-37 individuals need to be traced for every infected individual.
As of September 4, 2020, only 32% of COVID-19 cases have been contact traced according to regional epidemiologist Dr. Glen Alonsabe.



Bacolod City will maintain General Community Quarantine until September 19, 2020–with Home Quarantine Passes and border control in and out of the city implemented.
