A political prisoner’s wife Joyna Lacio Sabanal remains missing after she was abducted in broad daylight last January 6 by unidentified personalities in Fortune Towne, Bacolod City.
According to a report from September 21 Movement South Negros, the 23-year-old resident of Brgy. Buenavesta, Himamaylan City managed to send text messages calling for help and narrating how she was abducted by three people, one of which was a woman.
She was also able to detail how the abductors tried to cover her face with a handkerchief as they held her captive.
Her husband is a farmer who is currently detained and facing trumped-up charges.
Prior to her abduction, Sabanal has been a recipient of numerous threats through text messages and calls.
Sabanal’s whereabouts remain unknown and her abductors still at-large.
